Class of 2010 Graduation

Congratulations to the Class of 2010 on four fun and educational years at Village School. During your time at Village School, you have traveled to historic places, learned to knit, tested hypotheses, created new worlds through prose and poetry, built bridges and airplanes, and learned an ancient language. It has been a joy to watch your curiosity, intellect, and confidence grow. We will miss you. Best of luck in the years to come!

Spirit Week

Spirit Week

In the lead-up to Field Day, Village School students showed their enthusiasm by dressing up each day of Spirit Week. Monday was “Twins and Triplets Day.” Tuesday reigned in a parade of princesses. On Wednesday, we had a veritable feast with “Dress as a Food Day.” And Thursday was everyone’s favorite–”Wacky-Tacky Day.”

Bridge Visit

Field Day 2010

On Friday, the girls had Field Day. The day began with a trip to visit the bridge on the Rivanna Trial that the 8th graders built in early Spring. That was followed by several rousing games of kickball at Pen Park. The day ended with fun and relaxation at ACAC’s waterpark.

The Constitutional Convention Re-enacted

Village School’s Constitutional Convention convened this past week. Delegates from ten of the thirteen states were in attendance and the debates were at times heated, but the delegates always maintained their gentlemanly demeanor. The Convention will continue on Wednesday, when the three-fifths rules will guarantee a lively debate. The long weekend will allow delegates the opportunity to rest and regain their fighting spirit for the hotly contested issues to be discussed next week.
