Birthdays and Special Celebrations

At Village School we love to celebrate birthdays and special occasions. Birthdays are celebrated once a month with beads, an all school happy birthday song, and a cupcake of your daughter’s choice. We ask that you not send additional birthday or special occasion treats to school. It is school guidance in our small community that a party or gathering should include either less than five classmates or the entire grade. Please use discretion and your best judgement when departing from carline. Invitations to birthdays and special occasions should be sent and received outside of school.

Telephone

Parents may call Village School to leave a message for a student. We ask that all parent/student communication go through the front office. The office phone number is (434) 984-4404

Late Pick-Up and After-School

If, on occasion, a parent needs to pick up a student after dismissal time, the student should wait in the Reading Room. A student needing to stay after 3:45 p.m. is expected to participate in the After-School program, unless she has a prearranged conference with a teacher. After School ends promptly at 5:30. The phone number to call for After-School communications is (434) 282-9517

School Closings

If Village School is closed, delayed, or dismissed early due to weather and/or road conditions you will receive an email notification from Village School by 6:30 a.m. You may also rely on local news and radio for closing information.

Summer Reading

All students are expected to read three (3) books over the summer: their class book, the all school book, and one book of their choosing. They will return to school in August prepared to discuss the books and with a paragraph written about each book. Please find specific details on the document attached below.
