2019 Programs

Rock Your Future: The Musical (for rising 4th– 8th graders)
You develop the characters, YOU write the script, YOU design the sets and YOU create a one of a kind incredible rock-n- roll musical with the help of classic rock songs and some of the area’s top professional artists in their fields. Each session is two weeks long from 9am-3pm and packed with Script brainstorming, acting, singing, dancing, costumes and set design, ending with a fantastical show for family and friends!

Storyland Adventures (for rising 1st– 3rd graders)
Unleash your imagination this summer in an arts and theatrical improv experience inspired by favorite Movie themes. Weekly camps are from 9am-1pm and are packed with acting, improv, singing, dancing, costume, and set designing ending with a creative showcase every Friday for family and friends.

Makeup and Special FX Camp (for rising 6th– 9th graders)
Create gorgeous models and gruesome monsters in our movie makeup specialty! Let your imagination take you for a ride as you learn the art of using special effects makeup to transform you and fellow campers into fairy princesses, wild animals, ghosts or zombies. Learn everything from basic tips for everyday makeup to how to create fake wounds for the big screen. Weekly camp from 9am-1pm.
Makeup Camp and SFX Camp: June 10-14
Solve Like a Girl Math Camp (for rising 2nd– 7th graders)
In this full day camp, girls will explore patterns in numbers and nature. Figurate numbers, Fibonacci’s sequence, Pascal’s triangle, linear, inverse variation, exponential, and quadratic relationships will all come to life as we explore patterns in the real world. We will collect and analyze data, visualize patterns through girl-driven art creations, and engage our problem-solving skills with fun instant build challenges. Girls will also have an opportunity to learn strategies for solving contest-type math problems for all levels. We will take field trips to find patterns in our local built and natural environment. Girls will showcase their work at the end of the week. Join us if you love exploring, problem-solving, creating, and having fun! Weekly camp from 9am-3pm.
Solve Like a Girl Math Camp: June 17-21
Science Camp (for rising 4th– 7th graders)
In this full day camp, girls will explore exciting and innovative science and engineering concepts, through hands-on activities with LEGOs and STEM projects. Girls with also work in the kitchen creating some tasty experiments. This week-long camp is from 9am-3pm.
Science Camp: July 15-19
All Greek to Me—for rising 4th-6th graders
Explore ancient Greek culture and mythology through crafts, cuisine, and drama. Campers will learn the ancient Greek alphabet, roots, and phrases, re-interpret Greek tales, taste authentic foods, and create their own replicas of ancient Greek-style artifacts. Emphasis is placed on multicultural connections and confidence building through this active exploratory program. A two week half day camp from 9am-1pm taught by Laurie Duncan.
All Greek to Me Camp: June 10-21
Artist Afternoon Camp—for rising 4th-8th graders
Color, color, and more color! How do artists use color strategically to make their art? What is the science behind the colors working together? How can you use color to convey emotion? Work with professional artist and Village School teacher Lindsay Heider Diamond to look at, understand and create with color. This one week camp is from 1pm-3pm.
